SA@Takimag - The Dumb Right

Uploaded by: southernavenger
Video Description:
While SA has typically defended the rank-and-file, conservative Republican voter as having their heart in the right place, yet simply being misguided in supporting John McCain this election season - such naivete has become increasingly harder to defend.

Still between these ... ( 3 months ago by expatdk)
Still between these two socialisms, one is looking like Stalinism (giving to the few=MccCain) and the other one is looking like socio-liberalism of Northern Europe... it's difficult to accept for real conservvatives but this kind of politics is working and the best educated, happiest people come from these countries where poverty is very limited!

Free markets are ... ( 2 months ago by readthepaper)
Free markets are the most efficient; the market is constantly updated with new information that can never possibly be calculated or known by other means. Oh we have a wild west capitalist system? Since when? Antitrust, fiat currency, central banking, artificial interest rates, regulation, licensing, FTC, SEC, Sabarnes-Oxley, CRA, a 35% corporate tax rate. Wow that sounds like wild west capitalism alright!
Socialism is ... ( 2 months ago by readthepaper)
Socialism is working? It's funny because the more we move towards it the more the middle class is eroded and real wealth plummets. I'm not sure where somebody finds such garbage information but its simply not true. Economic calculation cannot occur in a socialist society, if you can explain how it does I'd be amazed.

If the American ... ( 2 months ago by Dyne77)
If the American idea of capitalism is superior to the European "socialist" models, then Americans should be the wealthiest people in the world. But in reality, Norwegians and Swiss are ahead by a fair margin. The Canadians are catching up, and may actually pass us depending on how this economic crisis works out. The so-called "socialists" are also much healthier and spend much less money on healthcare. But, that's a bit of a different topic.

A different topic ... ( 2 months ago by readthepaper)
A different topic may be that the WHO has found yet again US health care is the best in the world. America doesn't have capitalism we haven't had it for a long time and the more we have deviated from it the worse things have gotten. Fiat currency, central banking, artificial rates, ridiculous taxation, antitrust laws, SEC, FTC, Sabarnes-Oxley - this is capitalism? Let me ask you, how does economic calculation occur in socialism?
The WHO actually ... ( 2 months ago by Dyne77)
The WHO actually ranks the U.S.'s healthcare system at number 37. France is ranked number one. who(DOT)int/inf-pr-2000/en/pr2000-44(DOT)html Without antitrust laws, an economy would become dominated and regulated by massive corporations. Which is what we have today. Fiat currency, ridiculous taxation, central banking, and artificial rates are nothing more than bad ideas.

If you want to talk more about healthcare, these are the actual health statistics for the different countries: United States: child mortality 8 per 1,000; life expectancy (m/f) 75/80; spends $6,347 per person on healthcare (15.2% of GDP) Canada: child mortality 6 per 1,000; life expectancy (m/f) 78/83; spends $3,452 per person on healthcare (9.8% of GDP) France: child mortality 5 per 1,000; life expectancy (m/f) 77/84; spends $3,406 per person on healthcare (11.2% of GDP) All taken from WHO.

You've never ... ( 2 months ago by readthepaper)
You've never studied antitrust and monopoly laws I'm assuming. There has never been one antitrust case which was preceded by price collusion, price gouging, or a ridiculous market concentration. Monopoly can only exist with the assistance of the State. As for the health care, the US has only had decreasing care since the government's involvement. When people were actually allowed to run their own lives we were much better off. The reporting methods of countries with socialism is odd...

There's more to a country, MUCH more, than statistics on health.
All of the countries you listed, aside from the United States, lack basic freedoms in regards to gun-ownership, self-defense, home-defense, and largely unrestricted free speech and assembly. I'd rather have my Constitutional rights, and die three years earlier, than live in Canada and have no suc
h freedoms. Hell, I'd rather die at age 50 in the USA, than live to be 150 if I had to spend those 150 years in the UK or Canada.

I agree with your commentary here, SA. We live in a day and age where dissenting views can be commonly found just by watching YouTube. It is almost inexcusable for a conservative, liberal or some other politically-labeled person to get their commentary alone from their local cable outlet. Internet access is rather inexpensive, so to be not so informed as so is worthy of commented on.
The corellating problem then becomes: who does one listen to then?

I respect the Southern Avenger in spite of my left of center progressive politics, but the Bush Administration is not leftist at all. But what is bad about today's neoconservative GOP is that it was influenced by the hard left Trotskyite politics which is now neoconservatism today; they just simply took what was bad about the left and combined it with what is bad about the right. There is, however, nothing wrong with "paleoconservatism." They're now fighthing the Trots that entered the GOP.

Why would I amend it? All those are alive and well and to say corporations don't pay ridiculous taxes is just delusional. Look at what they pay in the US with the rest of the world there are only a handful that are higher than us; most being dictatorships and other lovely places to live.
